Finance Committee to review Public Service Reform Plan with Minister for Public Expenditure

29 Samh 2011, 15:00

Minister for Public Expenditure Brendan Howlin, TD, will attend the meeting of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform tomorrow, Wednesday, 30th November to review the Public Service Reform Plan which was published earlier this month.

Committee Chairman, Alex White TD said: “The Public Service Reform Plan which was published earlier this month contains almost 70 recommendations and 20 key actions to be taken, including further reductions in the number of State Bodies. It is clear that the plan involves a substantial level of change and will have implications for public servants and the general public. Tomorrow’s meeting will provide the Committee with an opportunity to discuss the report with the Minister and examine its recommendations in-depth. Committee members will also have a chance to question the Minister on how the reform plan will be implemented, what it will mean for the delivery of services and what kind of cost savings can be made.”

This meeting will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 30th November, in Committee Room 4, Leinster House 2000 at 4pm.
