Chairman designate of the Dublin Airport Authority to address Committee on Environment, Transport, Culture and the Gaeltacht

10 Ean 2012, 15:26

Pádraig Ó Riordáin, chairman designate of the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), will appear before the Committee on Environment, Transport, Culture and the Gaeltacht tomorrow, Wednesday 11th January to discuss his vision and priorities for the authority over the coming years.

Committee Chairman Ciarán Lynch, TD said: “The DAA is a major player in the State’s overall transport infrastructure. Among the issues it will face over the coming years are returning airports to growth, resolution of the pension deficit, the separation of Cork and Shannon Airports, as well as the challenge of filling the position of CEO given the significantly reduced salary for that position and the uncertainty surrounding the future composition of the authority.

Tomorrow, as part of the Oireachtas scrutiny process, we will have an opportunity to question Pádraig Ó Riordáin on his vision and priorities for the authority. He will have a chance to outline the challenges he feels the DAA will face in coming years. Members will also be able to raise any issues or concerns they may have in relation to DAA’s operations.”

This meeting will take place on Wednesday, 11th January, in Committee Room 4, Leinster House 2000 at 10.30am.
