Environment Committee to launch key report on the regulation of vehicle clamping

26 Márta 2012, 12:13

You are invited to attend, or send a representative, to the launch of report, The Regulation of Vehicle Clamping, by the Oireachtas Committee on the Environment, Transport, Culture and the Gaeltacht, on Thursday, 29th March at 11.30am in the AV Room of Leinster House.

The report makes a number of important recommendations and conclusions on the issue of regulating vehicle clamping.

Committee Chairman Ciaran Lynch and other Committee members will be in attendance and available for questions.

Committee Chairman Ciarán Lynch, TD said: “The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar, TD, has asked the Committee to take a role in the pre-Heads of Bill stage and contribute to the initial drafting of the legislation to regulate the vehicle clamping industry. This is the first time that a Committee has been asked to help draft Heads of a Bill. As part of that process, we met with a number of representative stakeholder groups to consider and discuss their views on what the proposed legislation needs to address and to form part of a report which the committee has prepared on the issue. Our report contains a series of recommendations which will inform the drafting of legislation to regulate the industry.”
