Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to launch report on ICT skills demand in Ireland

The Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will launch its report A review of the ICT skills demand in Ireland on Wednesday, 10th October at 11.30am in the AV Room, Leinster House, Dublin 2.

The report makes a number of important recommendations and observations on the issue of ICT skills demand in Ireland from the Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

Report author and Committee Member Senator Deirdre Clune, said: “There is a significant gap between the ICT skills which are taught in our schools and those that are required to take up job opportunities in the technology sector. This report identifies a number of key issues in relation ICT skills demands and shortages and makes recommendations on the measures necessary to prepare our workforce with relevant skills for a knowledge economy.”
