The Committee of Public Accounts will examine the Public Service Reform Plan when it meets with Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin, TD tomorrow, Thursday, 11th October, 2012.
The Committee will also receive a briefing on the work of the Implementation Body of Croke Park Agreement to date from PJ Fitzpatrick, Chairman of that body.
Chairman of the Committee John McGuinness, TD, said: “The Department recently published a statement on progress on the implementation of the Public Service Reform Plan. Tomorrow, we will have an opportunity to examine the progress report in detail and consider how the public sector is changing in the way it is organised, in the way people are managed and in the way money is spent.
“The key issues for the Committee are as follows: what verifiable savings are being achieved under the agreement; what other savings are envisaged by the changes being implemented and what future targets are in place to achieve these; and how are front-line services being affected as a result of the savings.”
The meeting starts at 10am on Thursday, 11th October in Committee Room 1, LH 2000.
