Minister for Children to appear before Health Committee

17 DFómh 2012, 14:41

Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Francis Fitzgerald TD, will update the Committee on Health and Children on children and youth affairs at its meeting tomorrow, Thursday, 18th October 2012.

Committee Chairman Jerry Buttimer TD said: “This meeting will provide a chance for members of the Committee to raise matters regarding children and youth issues with Minister Fitzgerald. This is our regular quarterly meeting and, given the announcement of the Children’s Referendum, it is an opportune time to meet the Minister given the on-going developments in the area of children and young people. Among the issues we will be addressing are the forthcoming referendum on children’s rights, the establishment of the Child Protection Service and the Child and Family Support Agency, inter-country adoptions, and the budgetary position of the department.”

The meeting starts at 9.30am on Thursday, 18th October in Committee Room 2, LH 2000.
