Health Committee and Minister for Children to call for Yes vote in Children’s Referendum

22 DFómh 2012, 11:31

The Committee on Health and Children will join with Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Francis Fitzgerald TD for a photocall to promote a yes vote in the forthcoming Children’s Referendum.

The photocall will take place tomorrow 23rd October at 2.30pm in Merrion Square Park, Dublin 2 and will include TDs and Senators from all parties along with independent members of the cross-party committee.

Photographers and TV Cameras are invited to attend the event and should meet at the Merrion Street entrance of the park at 2.30pm.

Committee Chairman Jerry Buttimer TD said: “At our meeting last week, all parties and independent members were unanimous in calling for a yes vote in the forthcoming referendum. This is a very important plebiscite – it is an opportunity to offer a second chance of family life to those children who need it. It is about putting children at the centre.”
