Health Committee welcomes decision on Children’s Hospital

6 Samh 2012, 17:31

The Committee on Health and Children has welcomed the announcement of the decision to build the new Children’s Hospital on a site in and around St James’s Hospital.

Committee Chairman Jerry Buttimer TD said: “Today’s announcement brings certainty to the issue of locating and building a children’s hospital after many delays. A special state-of-the-art hospital to treat sick children has been needed for many years and today is the first step in building a hospital to provide top-class healthcare for current and future generations of children. The key thing now is to proceed to the planning stage so that construction can start as soon as possible.”
