Health and Children Ministers to appear before sub-committees

28 Samh 2012, 15:07

Minister for Health James Reilly TD will attend the meeting of the Sub-Committee on Health tomorrow, 29th November 2012 to consider the 2013 Allocations for public expenditure – Health and the Health Service Executive.

This meeting starts at 9.30am on Thursday, 29th November in Committee Room 2, LH 2000.

Following this meeting, at 11.15am, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald TD will appear before the Sub-Committee on Children and Youth Affairs to discuss the 2013 Allocations for public expenditure - Children and Youth Affairs.

Committee Chairman Jerry Buttimer TD said: “As part of the Programme for Government 2011 and the Dáil reform programme, Committees now have the opportunity to examine Estimates on a whole-of-year basis, and our meeting tomorrow forms part of that initiative. This pre-budget engagement with the Ministers will provide committee members with a greater input into the budgetary process and is an important part of our work programme.  Members will have a chance to consider the budgetary challenges facing the Ministers and to give their views on the form that any adjustments or savings should take.”
