The Ceann Comhairle, Seán Barrett TD will turn on the Oireachtas Christmas Tree lights at 5pm on Tuesday 4th December 2012. He will be joined at this event by the Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, Senator Paddy Burke, Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD, Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore TD, Micheal Martin TD, Gerry Adams TD, Catherine Murphy TD and Senator Jillian Van Turnhout and other members of the Oireachtas.
Music and song will be provided by the Trinity College Dublin Chapel Choir, which is celebrating its 250th anniversary, and the Oireachtas Choir.
As this ceremony provides a photo opportunity, media wishing to attend are asked to notify this office in advance of their intention to attend and should arrive on the day via the Merrion Street Gate at 4.50pm
