Sub-Committee on Environment, Community and Local Government to discuss 2012 Supplementary Estimates

10 Noll 2012, 13:40

The Sub-Committee on Environment, Community and Local Government will discuss the 2012 Supplementary Estimates for Public Services – Vote 25 (Environment, Community and Local Government) with Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government at its meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 11th December 2012 .

Committee Chairman Michael McCarthy, TD said: “The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government has proposed making a contribution of €8 million to the Peace III Programme 2007-2013.  The opportunity to make the contribution arises from an agreement with the Department of Public Expenditure & Reform to route all receipts under the programme back to the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government. The proposed contribution will enable fulfilment of contractual obligations arising in 2012.

“The overall objective of the Peace III Programme is to reinforce progress towards a peaceful and stable society and to promote reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the Border region of Ireland.

“Tomorrow’s meeting will afford members of the Sub-Committee an opportunity to discuss this supplementary estimate with the Minister and to raise any issues they may have on the matter.”

This meeting will take place on Tuesday, 11th December, in Committee Room 4, Leinster House 2000 at 2.15pm.
