Justice Committee to discuss the proposed Council Regulation on the Statute for European Foundation

18 Noll 2012, 14:12

The Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality will discuss the proposed Council Regulation on the Statute for European Foundation when it meets with representatives from Philanthropy Ireland tomorrow, Wednesday, 19th December 2012.

Deputy Stanton said: “It is generally acknowledged that differences between, and obstacles in, national laws often make the conduct of Foundations’ cross-border activities costly and cumbersome. In February 2012 the European Commission presented a proposal for a European Foundation Statute in order to facilitate the cross-border activities of public benefit purpose foundations and make it easier for them to support public benefit causes across the EU. Tomorrow, we will consider the proposed regulation indepth with representatives from Philanthropy Ireland.”

This meeting will take place in Committee Room 2, Leinster House after the scrutiny of EU legislative proposal COM92012)614 and the meeting with Migrant Rights Centre Ireland which starts at 9.30am on Wednesday 19th December.
