The next meeting of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine, which was to consider the recent findings of beef burgers containing horse meat, has been postponed.
18 January 2013
Originally scheduled for Tuesday 22 January, the meeting will now take place at a later date where all information appropriate to a discussion with the Committee is available.
Representatives from the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and the officials from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine had been scheduled to brief the Committee. The Department informed the Committee this afternoon that the Minister and/or Department Officials will be available to discuss the issues in a thorough fashion once the appropriate investigations are completed.
