PAC to examine financial statements of the National Transport Authority

23 Ean 2013, 12:27

The Committee of Public Accounts will consider the financial statements of the National Transport Authority with its chief executive Gerry Murphy at its meeting tomorrow, Thursday, 24th January 2013.

Committee Chairman John McGuinness TD said: “Among the key issues for the Committee to consider at tomorrow’s meeting are the integration of the Taxi Regulator’s office into the Authority at the start of 2011; recent price increases for public transport and how the Authority decided and approved fare rises; and public service obligations with particular emphasis on the financial difficulties at CIE and Irish Rail. Progress around the integrated ticketing scheme or Leap Card, plans for its full roll-out across all services; how it is working for the commuter; and its overall cost could also feature at the meeting, while the committee will also be interested in examining capital expenditure by the Authority on projects which are not currently going ahead.”

This meeting starts at 10am on Thursday, 24th January in Committee Room 1, LH 2000.
