Health Committee to HSE 2013 service plan and medical cards with HSE Director General designate

6 Márta 2013, 15:46

The Health Service Executive National Service Plan 2013 and issues relating to medical cards will be on the agenda of the Committee on Health and Children tomorrow, Thursday, 7th March 2013 when it meets with Tony O’Brien, director general designate of the Health Service Executive (HSE).

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “Tomorrow, the Committee will continue with its important remit of observing and examining the work and role of the HSE. The HSE Service Plan sets out the type and volume of services the HSE will provide directly, and through a range of funded agencies, during 2013. This meeting will provide an opportunity for members of the Committee to raise issues regarding the delivery of health and social care services under the HSE’s National Service Plan for 2013. Committee Members will also have a chance to consider issues in relation to medical cards with the HSE. Last year, the Committee met with HSE officials at the Medical Card Centre at the HSE Offices in Finglas to discuss concerns at the time about the delay in processing medical cards. Tomorrow will be an opportunity for the Committee to get an update on this and other matters in relation to medical cards.”

The meeting takes place tomorrow, Thursday, 7th March, 2013 at 9.30am in Committee Room 2, LH 2000.
