18 Meith 2013, 16:36

The Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality will discuss 2013 revised estimates for public services with Minister for Justice and Equality Alan Shatter TD at its meeting tomorrow, Wednesday 19th June 2013.

The 2013 revised estimates for public services which will be considered are:

Vote 20 (Garda Síochána);
Vote 21 (Prisons);
Vote 22 (Courts Service);
Vote 23 (Property Registration Authority); and
Vote 24 (Justice and Equality)

Committee Chairman David Stanton, TD, said: “Tomorrow’s meeting should reflect efforts being made to strengthen the role of Dáil Éireann and its Select Committees in holding Ministers and their Departments to account for the proposed allocation of public funds. Minister Shatter’s presence at tomorrow’s meeting allows the Committee to consider the 2013 Revised Estimates for Public Services for his Department, along with the outcomes and effectiveness of the expenditure concerned. These estimates outline the overall proposed expenditure by the Department and give information on the sectors in which the money will be spent.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 2, Leinster House at 9.30am, on Wednesday, 19th June 2013.
