1 Iúil 2013, 17:05

A report from Home and Community Care Ireland on the Business Case for the Outsourcing of Home Care Provision and a More Efficient Use of Fair Deal Funds will be the focus of the Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation when it meets with Bryan Meldrum, Co-chair of Home and Community Care Ireland.

Chairman of the Committee Deputy Damien English said: “A Report by EPS Consulting for Home and Community Care Ireland, the trade association which represents private home care providers in Ireland, makes the business case for a complete overhaul of the manner in which home care services are delivered. Tomorrow we will have a chance to examine the report in more detail with HCCI Co-chair Bryan Meldrum, while Committee members will have a chance to raise any issues they may have on the report in particular and the home care provision business in general.”

This meeting will be followed by an engagement with Julie O'Neill Chairperson Designate, National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI)

Deputy English added: “Under the Programme for Government, those who are being proposed for appointment as chairpersons of State boards are required to make themselves available to the appropriate Oireachtas Committee. Tomorrow’s meeting is a welcome opportunity for our Committee to engage with the Chairperson Designate of the National Standards Authority of Ireland on her vision for the company. She will have an opportunity to outline what she sees as the priorities and challenges for the NSAI in the immediate period ahead and into the future.”
