Health Committee to focus on the situation in Mount Carmel Hospital

The current situation in Mount Carmel Hospital will be on the agenda of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children tomorrow, Tuesday, 18th February 2014.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: ““The recent closure of Mount Carmel Hospital, after 65 years in operation, has caused shock, concern and sadness among the affected staff, patients and the community in South County Dublin.  Tomorrow, Committee Members will have a chance to get an update on the current situation in relation to Mount Carmel Hospital when it meets with representatives Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation and officials from the Department of Health and Health Service Executive.”

The meeting will start at 2.30pm in Committee Room 1, Leinster House tomorrow, Tuesday, 18th February 2014.
