Finance Committee to discuss Public Service Reform Plan

18 Feabh 2014, 11:03

Public Sector reform will be on the agenda of the Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform tomorrow, Wednesday, 19th February 2014 when it meets with Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brenda Howlin TD.

Committee Chairman Ciarán Lynch said: “Last month, the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform published the Government’s new Public Service Reform Plan 2014-2016 and the Second Progress Report on its previous Reform Plan. Tomorrow, we will have an opportunity to consider the second progress report in greater detail with the Minister, and Members will have a chance to question the Minister on developments to date in the reform programme, particularly in areas such as reducing costs, improving productivity, more online delivery of services and the introduction of shared services. We will also have an opportunity to examine the new Reform Plan and the challenges and opportunities that this may provide for the public service.\"

This meeting will start at 4.30pm on Wednesday, 19th February 2014 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House 2000.

Committee proceedings can be followed live here.
