I am deeply saddened to hear of the untimely passing of TD and former Senator Nicky McFadden.
She will be sadly missed by her family, many friends, colleagues and constituents. On behalf of the Members of Seanad Éireann, and on my own behalf, I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to them at this time.
I was privileged to serve alongside Nicky for five years in the 23rd Seanad. She was a very popular and hard-working senator, particularly in her role as spokesperson for social welfare. This commitment no doubt aided her eventual election to the Dáil.
