Health Committee to meet Health Minister and HSE Director General

The Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children will tomorrow, Thursday, 3rd April 2014, hold its quarterly meeting with the Minister for Health James Reilly TD and Tony O’Brien, Director General of the Health Service Executive (HSE).

Minister of State with responsibility for Primary Care, Alex White TD, and Minister of State with responsibility for Disability, Equality, Mental Health and Older People, Kathleen Lynch TD, will also appear before the Committee.

The quarterly meeting provides an opportunity for committee members to hear directly from the individuals who are in charge of the agencies with principle responsibility for delivering the country’s healthcare services.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “Tomorrow, the Committee will continue with its important remit of observing and examining the work and roles of the Department and the HSE. It will provide members of the Committee with an opportunity to directly engage with those charged with running the country’s healthcare services.”

The meeting will start at 9.30am in Committee Room 2, Leinster House tomorrow, Thursday, 3rd April  2014.
