Finance Sub Committee to discuss Central Bank Bill 2014

Minister for Finance Michael Noonan will attend the Select Sub Committee on Finance tomorrow, Wednesday 16th April, 2014 for consideration of the Central Bank Bill 2014.

Committee Chairman Ciarán Lynch TD said: “This Bill provides for the effective and expeditious transfer of the business and other assets and liabilities of building societies and for that and other purposes to amend the Central Bank Act 1971. It also makes provision for certain payments out of the Central Fund to the account established by the ESM as agent on behalf of the euro area Member States to receive payments for the purpose of providing financial assistance to the Hellenic Republic. Tomorrow, the Committee will have the opportunity to discuss proposed changes as set out in the legislation as agreed by the Dáil at Second Stage.”

This meeting will start at 6pm on Wednesday, 16th April 2014 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House 2000.
