Public Expenditure Sub-Committee to consider Protected Disclosures Bill 2013

13 Beal 2014, 12:39

Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin TD will attend the Select Sub-Committee on Public Expenditure and Reform tomorrow, Wednesday 14th May 2014 for consideration of the Protected Disclosures Bill 2013.

Committee Chairman Ciarán Lynch TD said: “The Protected Disclosures Bill provides for the first time whistleblower protection across all sectors of the economy. The legislation is intended to provide a statutory framework within which workers can now raise concerns regarding potential wrongdoing in the workplace by offering protection for all workers against penalisation in circumstances where they make a protected disclosure. Tomorrow, the Committee will have the opportunity to discuss proposed changes as set out in the legislation as published.”

This meeting will start at 2pm on Wednesday, 14th May 2014 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House 2000.

Committee proceedings can be followed online here.
