Health Committee to consider Health (General Practitioner Service) Bill 2014

The Select sub-Committee on Health meets tomorrow for Committee-stage consideration of the Health (General Practitioner Service) Bill 2014, which sets out to extend free GP care for all children under six years old.

Minister of State for Primary Care Alex White TD will be in attendance along with Department Officials.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “The purpose of the Health (General Practitioner Service) Bill 2014 is to amend existing legislation to provide for a free GP service to all children aged five years and younger. Tomorrow, the Committee will have the opportunity to discuss proposed changes as set out in the legislation as published.”
