Health Committee to discuss the role of pharmacy sector

30 Meith 2014, 11:24

The Committee on Health and Children will focus on the role of the pharmacy sector when it meets with representatives of the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) tomorrow, Tuesday, 1st July 2014.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “The role of the pharmacist has grown over the past number of years, with pharmacists providing additional services to patients, no longer just dispensing medicines. The IPU is the representative and professional body for community pharmacists and has clearly said that it hopes that the role of the pharmacist will expand even further. Tomorrow, we will meet with representatives of the IPU when we will discuss the expanding role of the pharmacy sector.”

This meeting will be held in Committee Room 2, Leinster House 2000 at 5.15pm on Tuesday, 1st July 2014.

Committee proceedings can be followed online here.
