Communications Committee invites expressions of interest in nominations to RTÉ and BAI boards

17 Iúil 2014, 17:41

The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Transport and Communications is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified members of the public who would like to be considered for upcoming appointments to the boards of RTÉ and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).

17 July 2014

Chairman of the Committee John O’Mahony TD says: “Oireachtas Committees are playing an ever more active role in the process leading to the appointment of Chairpersons to State Boards. In a similar vein and under existing legislation, this Committee also has a role in the nominating individuals to the boards of RTÉ and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.

“We invite expressions of interest to these important boards with a view to considering them for nomination to the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources. Those putting forward their names should attach a short history of their work experience, detailing which of the criteria for appointment they satisfy, as well as a copy of their CV.\"

Note that the closing date for expressions of interest has now passed.
