Health Committee to hold hearings on HSE report on Section 38 and 39 Agencies and the impact on service delivery

21 Iúil 2014, 10:53

The impact on the delivery of services arising from the HSE investigation into matters relating to Section 38 and 39 funded agencies will be the focus of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children tomorrow, Tuesday, 22nd July 2014 when it will meet Laverne McGuinness, Deputy Director General, Health Service Executive.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “The Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children recently received a report from the Health Service Executive on the Internal Review Panel into Business Cases received from Section 38 and 39 Agencies to reach compliance with Government Pay Policy. Tomorrow, the Committee meets with the HSE to consider the impact on service delivery caused by additional allowances that have been paid to senior staff working in Section 38 and 39 funded agencies.  Our meeting is an opportunity to discuss the report in detail with representatives from the HSE and to consider how those who rely on these vital services have been affected.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 2, Leinster House at 12 noon tomorrow, Tuesday, 22nd July 2014.

Committee proceedings can be followed live here.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
