Marcella Corcoran Kennedy has been elected chair of the Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at its meeting today, Tuesday, 22nd July 2014.
Deputy Corcoran Kennedy said: “I would like to thank my Oireachtas colleagues who nominated me to chair this important Oireachtas Committee. It is an honour and privilege to be elected to this position.
“This Committee plays a key role in providing a meaningful input into legislation and policy and informing debate on the creation and retention of jobs and promoting enterprise and innovation.
“I intend to take a collaborative approach to the Committee’s work programme and work with Members from all sides to ensure that this Committee conducts its business in an effective and positive fashion. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure this Committee makes a real impact on policy and makes a real contribution to the areas under our remit.”
