The Ceann Comhairle wishes to make it perfectly clear that he has had no discussions with any Member with regard to Membership of the Technical Group - nor is it his role to do so.
Under Standing Order 120(1)(b) a majority of Members of Dáil Éireann, who are not members of a party as defined in 120(1)(a) may form a Technical Group. Members must inform the Ceann Comhairle of their membership as it is incumbent on the Ceann Comhairle to ensure that the membership of the group does not fall below seven members.
