Environment Committee to focus on General Scheme of National Cultural Institutions (National Concert Hall) Bill

The General Scheme of National Cultural Institutions (National Concert Hall) Bill will be on the agenda of the Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht tomorrow, Tuesday 30th September.

Noel Coonan, Leas-Chathaoirleach of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht, said: “The purpose of this bill is to give statutory status to the National Concert Hall, in line with the governance and accountability regime that applies to other national cultural institutions. Tomorrow we will to carry our pre-legislative scrutiny of the General Scheme of the Bill when we will consider the Heads of the Bill in detail with representatives from the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Gerry Kearney, Chairman and Simon Taylor, Chief Executive Officer, National Concert Hall.”

This meeting will take place at 2.15pm on Tuesday, 30th September 2014 in Committee Room 4.
