Dr Liam Twomey elected Chair of Finance Committee

Deputy Twomey said: “I am honoured to have been elected Chair of the Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform and I would like to thank my colleagues on the Committee for electing me to this position. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank former Chairman Ciarán Lynch for the work he did with the Committee and wish him well as he concentrates chairing the inquiry into the banking crisis.

This Committee plays a key role in scrutinising the work of the two Departments tasked with responsibility in the areas of public sector reform, managing the State’s finances and public expenditure. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure the Committee makes a real impact on policy and makes a real contribution to the areas under our remit.”
