7 DFómh 2014, 13:55

The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Public Service Oversight and Petitions will tomorrow consider another batch of public petitions received.

7 October 2014

These include:

  •     P00032/13 - Supplementary primary education tax payable by Australian (and other) nationals on working visas in Ireland
  •     P00014/2013 - Disabled Drivers and Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations 1994
  •     P00020/14 - Drivers with Disabilities (Tax Relief)

Chairman of the Committee Pádraig Mac Lochlainn TD says: “Our Committee looks forward to carefully considering petitions received from members of the public on a range of issues, including those related to tax concessions for drivers with disabilities and a supplementary tax payable by those on working visas to Ireland.”

“The Oireachtas petitions system is a direct channel for individual citizens and groups across Ireland to influence the parliamentary agenda. Creating a petition is simple and the process has been designed to be open, user-friendly and accessible to all. There is a standard form which we request all petitioners to complete, which is available at petitions.oireachtas.ie and can be completed and submitted online, emailed or sent by post.”

The meeting takes place tomorrow Wednesday 8 October in Committee Room 3, LH 2000 at 4 pm. It will commence in private session and is expected to revert to public session at 4:30 pm. Public proceedings can be viewed online here.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
