Jobs Committee to focus on Workplace Relations Bill 2014

5 Samh 2014, 15:17

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD will attend the Select Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation tomorrow, Thursday, 6th November 2014 for consideration of the Workplace Relations Bill 2014.

Committee Chair Marcella Corcoran Kennedy said: “The aim of this Bill is to replace the current five workplace relations bodies with two. The various responsibilities of the Labour Relations Commission (LRC), the National Employment Rights Authority (NERA), the Equality Tribunal, Employment Appeals Tribunal (EAT) and the Labour Court, which have built up over time, will be subsumed into the two new bodies. Tomorrow, the Bill will receive detailed consideration and members will have the opportunity to propose and discuss any amendments to the legislation as published.”

This meeting will start at 12.45pm on Thursday, 5th November 2014 in Committee Room 4.

Committee proceedings can be followed live here.
