Health Sub Committee to focus on Protection of Children’s Health Bill

Minister for Children and Youth Affairs James Reilly TD will attend the Oireachtas Select Sub Committee on Health meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, 11th November 2014 for committee stage of the Protection of Children’s Health (Tobacco Smoke in Mechanically Propelled Vehicles) Bill 2012.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “Tomorrow, the Select Sub Committee will consider the Protection of Children’s Health (Tobacco Smoke in Mechanically Propelled Vehicles) Bill, the title of which has been changed from the original title of Protection of Children’s Health from Tobacco Smoke. The aim of the Bill is to ban smoking in cars where children are present and to provide for the investigation and prosecution of such offences by members of an Garda Síochána. Tomorrow, the Committee will have the opportunity to discuss proposed changes as set out in the legislation as published.”

This meeting will start in Committee Room 3, Leinster House at 5.30pm tomorrow, Tuesday, 11th November 2014.
