The Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform will continue its overview of the banking sector tomorrow, Wednesday, 12th November 2014 when it meets with Permanent TSB Chief Executive Jeremy Masding.
Committee Chairman Dr Liam Twomey TD said: “Tomorrow we will resume our hearings with Irish banks as part of our overview of the banking sector when we meet with Jeremy Masding, chief executive of Permanent TSB. This will be followed by meetings with the chief executives of Ulster Bank and AIB on Thursday. Given the recent stress tests on banks which provided an indication of the general health of the banking sector here, it is an opportune time to meet with senior bank executives and undertake an overview of the sector. Members will have chance to consider the strategic priorities for the various banks, including matters such as the disposal of the State’s shareholding, the impact of EU banking legislation, commercial lending and mortgage related matters.”
This meeting will take place at 2pm on Wednesday, 12th November 2014 in Committee Room 4.
