PAC to ask C&AG for Progress Report on Ansbacher tax evasion

12 November 2014

The Committee of Public Accounts has agreed to write to the Comptroller and Auditor General to request a progress report on the collection of taxes in relation to Ansbacher accounts.

It follows a legal briefing this evening by the Office of the Parliamentary Legal Advisor  in relation to documentation recently received by PAC Members under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014.

The Chairman of the PAC John McGuinness TD will refer documents received by him to the Garda Síochána on behalf of each recipient. The Chairman will also write to Minister Richard Bruton TD requesting that the larger dossier on related matters in his possession be forwarded to the Revenue Commissioners.
