The Dáil Select sub-Committee Social Protection will meet tomorrow and Thursday for Committee stage consideration of the Social Welfare Bill 2014.

The Bill gives the necessary legislative effect to social protection measures announced in the Budget Statement of 14 October 2014 that are due to take to take effect in January 2015. Some measures announced in the Budget Statement will be provided for in a further Social Welfare Bill, while other measures relate to schemes that do not require legislative amendments.
An Tánaiste and Minister of Social Protection, Joan Burton TD, will be in attendance.

The meeting takes place at 1pm tomorrow Wednesday 26 November in Committee Room 3, LH 2000. The meeting can be viewed online here.
Consideration of the Bill is scheduled to resume on 10 am on Thursday 27 November in Committee Room 4 and it can be viewed online here.
