Finance Committee to meet Minister Howlin on three-year expenditure review

27 Ean 2015, 16:38

The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform will tomorrow meet with Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin TD for a discussion on the Comprehensive Expenditure Report 2015-2017.

27 January 2014

The Report was presented to the Dáil on Budget Day in October 2014 and sets out the Government’s expenditure allocations and measures for 2015, and the expenditure ceilings for 2016 and 2017.

Committee Chairman Dr Liam Twomey TD said: “Tomorrow’s meeting with Minister Brendan Howlin will be an opportunity to engage on this important Report for public spending in the next three years. It flows from detailed spending reviews submitted by each Government Department. Minister Howlin’s Department also conducted a public consultation which fed into the process. Committee Members look forward to engaging on the contents of the report, which sets out where spending can be realigned to meet Government objectives, achieve fiscal targets and deliver policy in an innovative manner.”

This meeting takes place at 3 pm on Wednesday 28 January in Committee Room 4, LH 2000.

Committee proceedings can be followed live here.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
