2 Feabh 2015, 10:20

The Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3rd, to continue their discussion of female entrepreneurship; the issues facing women in business and tech and the need for balanced regional development of entrepreneurial hubs.

2 February 2015

Representatives from Enterprise Ireland will present on female entrepreneurship and the organisation’s role in supporting regional development. Enterprise Ireland is responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets and assists in helping Irish enterprises to start, grow, and win export sales on global markets.

Committee Chair, Marcella Corcoran-Kennedy, TD, said: “The Committee looks forward to hearing from Enterprise Ireland tomorrow and continuing the discussion on the issues facing female entrepreneurs, as well as the wider issue of balanced regional development of entrepreneurial hubs. The Committee is keen to assist in making a real difference to the overall level of entrepreneurial activity by Irish women.”

“Enterprise Ireland Client companies currently support more than 300,000 jobs – direct and indirect – in Ireland, so the Committee will be very keen to hear about the organisation’s work in developing and supporting competitive Irish businesses that can create more jobs for Irish people. Similarly, it is vital that support is provided to entrepreneurs all over the country, in order to enable and empower them to continue their work in creating innovative new Irish businesses.”

The meeting will start in Committee Room 2, Leinster House, tomorrow, Tuesday, 3rd of February 2015 at 1.30pm. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.
