The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will tomorrow meet with Mr Padraig Ó’Riordáin, Chairman Designate of the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA). The meeting will take place Committee Room 4, Leinster House, tomorrow, Tuesday, 10th of February at 12 noon.

The State-owned Dublin Airport Authority is responsible for the operation and management of Dublin and Cork airports as well as global airport retailing.
Committee Chairman, John O’Mahony said: “The DAA is responsible for the the management and development of our international airports as well as retail management and investment. With a turnover of €501 million in 2013 and employing over 2,000 people, this appointment is a very significant one.\"
\"Tomorrow’s meeting with Chairman Designate, Padraig Ó’Riordáin, offers the Committee a valuable opportunity to examine his plans for the future direction of the DAA, should he be re-appointed. We, as a Committee, are keen to examine the very important role of the DAA, particularly in light of our recent discussions on any potential sale of the Government stake in Aer Lingus.”
“Following the discussion tomorrow, a decision will be taken by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to confirm Mr. Ó’Riordáin as Chair of the Dublin Airport Authority. We look forward to contributing towards an open debate and assisting the Minister in his decision.”
The meeting will start in Committee Room 4, Leinster House, tomorrow, Tuesday, 10th of February at 12 noon.
