Chairman of the Committee Frank Feighan TD says: “Decades after their relatives and friends were killed or injured in the Troubles, many people still have unanswered questions about what happened. Victims and survivors of the conflict in Northern Ireland have experienced significant trauma and there are many outstanding legacy issues to be addressed.”

“It is incumbent upon us as legislators to seek to listen to the people whose lives have been so tragically affected by the conflict in Northern Ireland. The Joint Committee looks forward to hearing the stories of victims, relatives and groups working with those affected, and their views on dealing with the past.

“By holding three sessions over the course of a full day, we as a Committee are seeking to maximise engagement and be as inclusive as possible. The Committee looks forward to an informative and productive meeting tomorrow.”

The meeting takes place tomorrow Thursday 24th September at 9.30 am in Committee Room 4, Leinster House 2000.

Committee proceedings can be followed live here.

The meeting will also be broadcast live on Oireachtas TV on Sky Channel 574; UPC Channel 207 and eVision Channel 504.
