Ministers Bruton and English to address Jobs Committee to conduct mid-year Estimates review

The Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will meet with Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD and Minister of State, Damien English TD, tomorrow, Tuesday, 29th September, to conduct a mid-year review of Estimates for the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

The Committee will consider Vote 32, which provides for Exchequer expenditure of approximately €740million.

The meeting will commence at 1.30 pm in Committee Room 2 tomorrow, Tuesday, 29th September 2015.

Committee Chair, Marcella Corcoran Kennedy TD said, “Tomorrow’s meeting provides us with a valuable opportunity to engage with Minister Richard Bruton and Minister of State Damien English on how the department has performed so far this year, and to discuss the prospects for the rest of the year.

“The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation has an important role in developing, promoting and co-ordinating policy in key areas such of jobs, innovation and trade & investment and this meeting will allow for an excellent exchange of views.”

“It will also reflect efforts being made to strengthen the role of Dáil Éireann and its Committees in holding Ministers and their Departments to account for the proposed allocation of public funds.”

The meeting will be broadcast live on Oireachtas TV on Sky Channel 574; UPC Channel 207 and eVision Channel 504.
