In tomorrow’s session with the Office of the Refugee Applications Commissioner and the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service, the Committee will seek to assess the Irish response and to address the many issues surrounding the human rights of those who make it to Europe, as well as nations’ obligations to those seeking asylum.”

“In the second session of our meeting, we will conduct a mid-year review of the 2015 Estimates for Public Services - Vote 35 (Army Pensions); and Vote 36 (Defence). Our engagement with Minister Coveney will allow us to discuss the allocation of public funds at the Department of Defence. Committee members will wish to examine how the department has performed so far this year, and to discuss its fiscal objectives for the rest of the year.”

The meeting will commence at 10am tomorrow, Wednesday, 30th September in Committee Room 2.

The meeting will be streamed live here.
