The Dáil Select Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality will meet tomorrow afternoon for Committee Stage consideration of the Marriage Bill 2015.

Minister for Justice and Equality, Frances Fitzgerald TD, will be in attendance.
The Marriage Bill will update the laws on marriages in order to enable couples to marry without distinction as to their sex, as provided for in Article 41.4 of the Constitution, which was approved by the people in the historic Marriage Equality referendum on 22nd May 2015.

Tomorrow’s meeting will also involve consideration of a Motion regarding the Memorandum of Understanding on establishment of Battlegroups. Minister for Defence, Simon Coveney TD, will address the Select Committee on this matter.
The schedule for tomorrow’s meeting is as follows:
Session A: 3.30p.m
Motion re Memorandum of Understanding on establishment of Battlegroups.
Session B: 5 p.m.
Marriage Bill 2015.
The Select Committee meeting will convene at 3.30pm in Committee Room 2, LH 2000 tomorrow, Wednesday, 30th September 2015.
