6 DFómh 2015, 12:53

The Select Sub-Committee on Finance will tomorrow meet with Simon Harris T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Finance, to consider Committee Stage of the Finance (Tax Appeals) Bill 2015.

06th October 2015

The meeting will commence at 5.15 pm in Committee Room 4 tomorrow, Wednesday, 7th October 2015.

Access the Finance (Tax Appeals) Bill 2015 here.

Chairman of the Committee, Liam Twomey T.D., said “The Finance (Tax Appeals) Bill 2015 is one which aims to reform the functions and structure of the Office of the Appeal Commissioners. This is an important Office that hears appeals in in relation to taxation matters and the Committee looks forward to meeting with the Minister to discuss over 40 proposed amendments to the Bill as initiated.”

“The Committee outlined some concerns in its pre-legislative report  in relation to certain matters but supports fully the establishment of  an independent statutory body to hear tax appeals. It will be interesting to see the extent to which these have been addressed”
