Agriculture Committee to receive an update on developments in the Department

Mr. Aidan O'Driscoll, Secretary General, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, will appear before the Committee.

Committee Chairman, Pat Deering TD, said: “Tomorrow’s meeting will give the Committee an opportunity to raise a wide-range of issues with the Department of Agriculture. Members will be keen to discuss issues around trade and Brexit, as well as the rollout of rural development plans.

“In terms of forestry, we will hear from the Department about the new Land Classification System and Environmental Requirements and new consent system for forestry roads. Direct payment will also be discussed, as well issues around animal health and welfare, and food safety.”
