The Joint Committee on Health will tomorrow meet with the Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, and the Director General of the Health Service Executive, Mr. Tony O’Brien, to receive a quarterly update.
The meeting will commence at 9.00am in Committee Room 4 tomorrow, Thursday, 10 November 2016.
Committee Chairman, Dr. Michael Harty TD, said “This meeting, the first of our quarterly updates on how the health service is performing, will provide an excellent forum for Members to debate directly with Minister Harris and the Director General of the HSE, Mr. Tony O’Brien, on health service provision.”
“Our recent meeting with Minister Harris allowed us to discuss issues such as the recently agreed Drugs Pricing Agreement, the Emergency Department Task Force, the Winter Initiative 2016/2017, hospital waiting lists and of course the financial performance and outlook of the Department. Tomorrow, the Committee will receive further updates on these issues, as well as others, and Members also look forward to engaging fully with Mr. O’Brien on how the HSE is managing increased demand.”
