Derek Moran to brief Finance Committee on Department’s Statement of Strategy

The Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Thursday 19 January at 10am to discuss the Department of Finance’s Statement of Strategy 2016-2019.

Mr. Derek Moran, Secretary General of the Department of Finance, will address the Committee.

Committee Chairman John McGuinness TD, said, “The Statement of Strategy is an important document that sets out the Department’s plans for ensuring an effective organisational structure, accountabilities and responsibilities, in order to ensure strategic priorities are met. Tomorrow’s meeting is a chance for members to engage with the Secretary General on how he and his management team plan to deliver the strategic priorities of the Department efficiently and effectively. Some of the topics likely to be discussed include corporate governance, training and skills development, as well as transparency.”

Prior to its meeting with the Department of Finance, the Committee will conduct scrutiny of EU legislative proposals: Schedule A and Schedule B items.
