Colm Brophy selected as Chairman of the Budgetary Oversight Committee

Speaking after his selection as Chairman, Deputy Brophy said: “The Committee on Budgetary Oversight was set up to enhance the role of the Oireachtas in the budgetary formation process and improve the level of engagement with parliament on budget decisions.  I’m delighted to have been selected Chairman. It is a privilege to chair a Committee of the Houses of the Oireachtas and the Committee on Budgetary Oversight has a major role to play in ensuring that parliament plays a key role in the budget process. I look forward to working with all of my colleagues from across the political spectrum to ensure the Committee fulfils its remit.”
