The Committee on Budgetary Oversight has today Thursday, 7, October published its final pre-Budget 2022 report.
Committee Cathaoirleach, Neasa Hourigan TD said: “Our report examines a number of areas including capital investment which will be vital in areas such as housing, climate change and transport. It is also essential that this investment be well managed and deliver a positive outcome for society and ensure money is well spent.
“Our reliance on corporation tax also poses a risk going forward as we await the outcome of international discussions on the corporation regime. It is important that we do not make any increases in our spending plans.
“The Committee has regularly discussed the issue of tax expenditures. New and existing measures must be clearly set out and debated to ensure they are providing an identifiable benefit and value for money.”
